Are you ready for 4G?

4G is literally turbo charging UK mobile networks, transforming the mobile internet experience for millions of smartphone and tablet users.
10 times faster than today’s networks, 4G technology allows us to download content at superfast speeds and enjoy a fast and smooth online browsing experience on mobile devices.
All of which fuels demand for yet more ‘on the go’ services from Brits. According to OFCOM, 94 per cent of UK adults now have a mobile device and are using their smartphones to get online and find what they’re looking for fast.
A missed opportunity

Re: Are you ready for 4G?
Hello,
It is uncertain IMHO if 4G will positively affect dotTEL future. There will be 2 opposite forces applied to TEL's future upon 4G :
- on one hand, 4G will push for more useful mobile browsing in search of more successful mCommerce mobile journeys, bringing indeed dotTELs which are natively mobile friendly, some real potential for further awareness and then for recognition .
These are the good news.
- on the other hand , and these are less positive news, this means EVEN the worst not-mobile-friendly sites will then display OK at reasonnable speed ( in 2 or 3 years, depending upon countries,) and counterbalance the incumbant genuine advantages of speed for dot TEL, also adding superior colored & fancy rendering capabilities even if not through mobile responsive/fitted designs.
So the success will not come IMHO from the 4G itself , but still depends from other factors , to be discussed.
