As mobile internet is the main path for the future (on feature phones, on advance Smartphones, on tablets, on client PC , etc.. no one can escape from facing the reality of trying to have a minimal usefull journey and reach browsing through its mobile.
Telnames and TELs templates cannot escape from it either.

Interesting on this topic, is the web site  http://prism.mobiforge.com  .
It is at smart tool provided by dot mobi promoters to promote dot mobi capabilities , by enabling user to view their website, or third parties websites through several mobile device simultaenously, by simulation only....

Even more interestingly in fact, I did try this tool onto some reference Telnames sites (...)  and on  TEL with its multiple templates available (!) .
You can play with it too.
And also VERY funny is that finally mobile rendering on a mobile device is not an exact science  even through dot mobi !!!!
(... try to simulate with this Tool the rendering of  www.espn.mobi ) ...

Or is it the mobile simulation science (& Tools) itself which is not mature enough ???

If you have other mobile display simulators/renderer , or alternative IRL experience,  kindly let us know ...
THE more TELNIC focus on and ease mobile usage, mobile rendering, and mobile directories, THE closer to the Graal TEL would be , whatever bundle release (Telnames, Tel pro, Chinese Tel providers etc)

I find   http://www.mobilephoneemulator.com/   is pretty good at simulating dot tel webpages.

Do you mean the link above isn't opening; or do you mean the requested website isn't opening inside of the tool?

In my case everything is working fine.

I don't know why the .com link makes some troubles with Firefox, but this one will be working fine:

Yes   http://dfcb.github.io/Responsivator/   works fine for me in Firefox.

However, if you use the Responsivator tool to  look at dot tel sites which have been build with Mark's tools to display different images for the mobile version of the site, compared to the desk top version, then this tool shows desktop images and not mobile images.

For example,  look at   http://weather.lostwithiel.tel/  using Responsivator. At the top of the site you will see  a picture showing  a rainbow. This is the desktop version of the page.  The mobile version of the site displays a weather forecast image from netweather.tv.   If you use http://www.mobilephoneemulator.com/  then the correct mobile image is displayed.

Indeed emulating mobile responsive rendering on several device from a server IS INDEED MORE COMPLEX than just rendering  several form factor displays.

Responsivator is interesting as you can customize dimensions of display , but results might be somehow far from mobile rendering .

Depending on mobile device and mobile browser (not to talk about additionnal further malicious unexpected effects sometimes from Internet Gateways between Mobile Network and Internet network within a given Mobile Operator 's Infrastructure Network), the final mobile rendering may be different even from same display but from two distinctive mobile devices and this has to be taken into account by reasonnable quality emulator of mobile responsiveness .

Observations made by Keith on its www.lostwithiel.TEL Cornwall directory are obvious reminders that mobile responsiveness require to toggle into mobile environment, therefore causing the display of mobile top and bottom images embedded into TEL instead of continuing to display images intented for-whatever-smaller-size-display on desktops !

Mobile rendering IRL has also some known bad side effects which are SOMETIMES still the exclusion of top and bottom mobile images 300x150 although they should display, the ICONS disappearance, and even sometimes the LOGO disappearance, although it is the most likely graphic item to be kept rendered on mobile device even down to some small displays.

Another point is that unfortunaltely adsense ads are obviously considered as side images "affected at a desktop display" and therefore never displayed on mobile, which is certainly on MAIN reason why TELs (and TELnames bundles, as a potential practical consequence ) are not ideally indexed and rendered still with high priority at this time by GOOGLE for MOBILES  , although TELs technically display enough reasonnably on mobile screens compared to the average website (note that TELnames has its mobile rendering "simplified" independantly from TELnic, with the discard of the bottom image ( its major graphical waouh effect compare to pro TELs , fortunately the image gallery of telnames is still displayed as well as its coupon zone) . In other words for search engine, "Not mobile no future".

I used COWEMO mobile phone emulator alone wich is fine but limited in the number of mobile devices and also does not have multiple device rendering at the same time .
So therefore still using combined tools, the mobilephoneemulator.com  and the prism.mobiforge.com to approach quick vision of mobile rendering .

I suppose within the dot mobi ecosystem they did spend also a hard time and energy in the past to set Tools to promote mobilization and demonstrate mobile (good or bad) rendering in order to promote dot mobi registration.
Perhaps other interesting emulating tools for mobile rendering are still to discover in this environment?
dot mobi has certainly now its own strategic difficulties to keep its positionning in the global mobile mobilization of websites (still slow, but a major stream under red oceans web water ), and possibly no new Tools were worth it to launch .

Nice  to still have therefore any further new suggestion for smart mobile emulators for websites ( rendering onto several mobile devices is a must !), unabling to check easily dot TEL rendering (bad mobile image choice, no mobile image, etc ) and TEL rendering evolution if any.

Perhaps TELnic will some day also focus on increasing IRL mobile rendering of TELs , as mobile web is one main route to web future.

....In case TEL stake holders desire TEL to stay afloat in main streams, and not be left aside.

Another mobile display emulator for mobile responsive TELs rendering :
http://snippets.hubspot.com/hubspot-device-lab#link-six

Compare incumbant websites from your suppliers or partners to dot TEL responsive websites ( ie www.YourBusiness.TEL ; www.InternetOfThings.TEL ,  etc ) . Apparently this emulator is sometimes buzzyslow when rendering ...
